As your Sheriff, I strongly believe that a community is stronger when its citizens are informed and involved. The Sheriff's Office needs and accepts all civilian engagement with its law enforcement efforts in Scotland County. Below are just a few of the programs we provide to strengthen public safety and our response to our community. New ideas and suggestions from citizens are vital to improving our service. I invite you to send us your thoughts and comments about the services we provide as we continue making the Scotland County Sheriff Office the best it can be for the citizens of Scotland County.

The Scotland County Sheriff's Office 'Adopt-A-Cop' goal is to assign law enforcement officers to a family, group, or individual who will pray daily for them and send a note of encouragement, support and a thank you for their service to the community.
Imagine the powerful difference you can make in the lives of those who put their lives on the line for us everyday! While a bulletproof vest gives a level of protection for our law enforcement officers, an even greater blessing and shield of protection can be found in the power of a faithful, praying believer or group of prayer warriors.

The Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the installation of a secure Medicine collection drop-box just inside the front entrance of the Scotland County Courthouse. Unwanted, unused or expired prescription drugs have been determined to present substantial risks to our community by either falling into the wrong hands, or by damaging our environment through improper disposal. It is this awareness that has resulted in the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office working together with you our citizens to provide a safe alternative method for the disposal of unwanted medication.
Scotland County residents are encouraged to protect their families by safely disposing of unused and/or expired medications at our location. If you need more information please contact us.
Many of our Scotland County Citizens each year are unable to communicate with EMS personnel and first responders due to illness or trauma. Emergency contact information is frequently vital to facilitate treatment during life-threatening situations.

The Scotland County Sheriff's Office understands that our pets are family. We now provide your our citizens who are pet owners a sticker to be placed on your doors and/or windows to inform first responders that you have pets inside the home. If for any reason we have to respond to your home by having this sticker in place we will know you have a pet or pets. Our motto “No pet left behind”.
