The Scotland County Sheriff’s Office appreciates your interest in our agency and the work we do each day to serve our community. As public servants, we take seriously our responsibility to protect every member of our diverse county. Our commitment is to provide professional, efficient, and effective service to all residents, business owners, and visitors. Our mission is simple and steadfast: to build a safe and unified community across Scotland County.
Founded in 1899 from the southeastern portion of Richmond County, Scotland County carries a proud heritage rooted in the Scots‑Irish and Scottish Highlander settlers who shaped its early development. Though relatively young among North Carolina counties, Scotland County’s 125‑plus years reflect a rich and meaningful legacy that continues to influence our community today.
As the 11th Sheriff of Scotland County, I am dedicated to ensuring that every member of our office upholds the long tradition of protecting and serving our citizens. We provide comprehensive law enforcement, corrections, civil, and court services with professionalism and integrity.
We recognize that Scotland County is experiencing both exciting opportunities and challenging changes. Our office stands ready to adapt, respond, and lead in a manner that ensures the highest quality of service for all.
Your thoughts, concerns, and feedback are vital to our success. Strong community partnerships are essential to effective public safety, and one of my priorities as your Sheriff is to “Build Unity in the Community.” Together, we can continue strengthening the safety, trust, and well‑being of Scotland County.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our agency. It is an honor to serve you.
